Jerry West’s  Signed  Jersey

In memory and out of respect of my favorite basketball player of all time, I wanted to post this picture of Jerry West’s autographed jersey that I have had hanging in my office for 20 years. I have a nice collection of memorabilia that my son and I have collected over 50 years but this West jersey is my only piece of uniform. Along with literally millions of other basketball fans, I loved the skill, competitiveness, and the beauty of the game the way West played it. I could always identify with West because just like him I came from a little town. (Zeke from Cabin Creek.) West is #14 in my book of the greatest basketball players to ever play. Only six players have more All-NBA selections. He made the All-Star team every year he played. (14 years) He was always at his best in the playoffs where he earned the nickname Mr. Clutch. The NBA has never admitted to it but most NBA basketball followers believe the NBA Logo is from a picture of West. In my book I said he led the NBA in several categories but the one he would have preferred to not have been #1 was broken noses. He suffered NINE broken noses due to his hustle and relentless pursuit to excel. I did not know him personally but as a 70 year fan of the game I will miss him. May God bless him and his family.
